Gel Creams are obviously rising in popularity in the market. I personally get too confused on which one to believe and purchase.
So I recently had my hands on Helen Park’s WEB GEL CREAM and it actually sets itself apart from other gel creams sold.
Foremost, what we need to know about the Helen Park skin care collection is that it promotes the “one product skincare” type of routine. Thus they always tell the customers to study and know your skin type, what it needs and what you need to improve with. This way you are able to pick the right product from them. For Helen And Park, LESS is always MORE.
Helen Park’s Web Gel Cream comes in three different variants; Whitening, Moisturizing, and Anti-Wrinkle. I got my hands on the Whitening jar.
Before I go through my whitening jar, let us look through the collection as a whole.
This Web Gel Cream is free from possible irritants like alcohol and scented chemicals. This is very safe and gentle so you need not worry about your skin adjusting to the product on the first phase of using it.
It contains Aloe Vera and Mistletoe extracts. Aloe has been known in the cosmetic industry for its cooling and moisturizing properties. Whereas Mistletoe extracts might be a little new to you. Mistletoe extracts have anti-aging and healing properties. These benefits improve the condition of the skin in the long run.
This Gel Cream promises good absorption and smooth finish to the skin. It is not sticky and gives you that healthy honey-like smooth skin.
The label says “Pure” for it promises PURE effect to your skin.
So you might think why it is called a WEB gel Cream? It is because the product is made into a web-like consistency for a better coverage to maximize the effects in the skin.
The recommended application to this product is both in the morning and night. Use it in the morning as a moisturizing boost and makeup base. It is very effective in helping makeup adhere to the skin longer. And of course during the night as your skin care routine.
At first, I still used this Web Gel Cream together with all my skin care products and it was doing fine and the effects were good as it claimed. However, I experienced its one-product effectivity the moment I got a laser procedure with my derma a few days ago(just look at the timing! hahaha).
So after the procedure, I am not to use any products, moisturizers, toners and the like, for a week but instead, she prescribed me an aloe cooling gel that I didn’t purchase because I thought I have a cooling gel at home(which is this Web Gel Cream). Surprisingly it didn’t irritate my skin, and it helped my skin recover healthily. The effect of using it with my other skin care products is as equal to using at alone. Thus we can actually save a lot just purchasing this for skin care. Though my skin is a still a little reddish from the procedure I can see how it kept my skin moisturized and healthy throughout these side effects [and not to mention it’s relaxing effect].
The product is actually not sticky and leaves no residual feeling to the skin; which I like the most. I also like how it doesn’t have a scent. And though it is labeled as a cream, it actually is water based which assures us that no excess or unnecessary oils were used in the product.
Like what I said, my jar is the Whitening one, I’m still trying to figure out its whitening effect in the skin. I actually wanted to test the product in its whitening claim. So I tried to use it on my knees for a whole month(just for a random effectivity test; maybe?). But I don’t think there was the improvement on my knees darkened when it comes to whitening. [hing!] So I conclude, it’s either I still need to use it longer, or the “whitening” actually meant just brightening or a tone up effect.
additional tip: keep it in the refrigerator for added cooling.
The packaging is in Blue and White colors; both for the box and the jar itself. What you get inside the box is a round jar in powder blue body and white lid. What I noticed though is that the jar is a bit big for a 100ml product. The outer layer of the jar actually is what makes it so big. There’s an outer layer that surrounds the shallow inner part where the product actually goes, and it’s quite big. But it actually tells me it works as a protective layer to keep the product at room temperature and even cooler as much as possible.
Again like what I said, the jar is too big and opening it daily exposes a lot of product to external dirt; and I quite didn’t like it.
Also, I have a problem with it not having a spatula or something of the sort. Dipping your fingers to the whole content regularly can either cause another residue in your hands to transfer inside the product remaining, or even cleaning your hands every time you use the product is time-consuming as well. Bottom line is, it’s quite inconvenient. *wink wink*
Well, it’s basically because of the packaging that I wished they could change and make it more hygienic and convenient. And also I’m still hoping it’s whitening effect goes more than just toning up. I can assure you its moisturizing and benefits is a two thumbs up!
