Gradient lips; I bet you are very much familiar with this. Indeed Korean Gradient lips have been a trend in the beauty world these days. And I believe it will continue to stay on the trend for a longer time.
Now, why are the gradient lips look a very popular thing in Korea? The answer goes with its youthful effect on anyone who wears it. Not only that, it also emphasizes your eyes which are perfect for almost all types of look. From your Aegyeo look to edgy and chic look, gradient lips are the best.
Natural makeup look in Korea is pretty much a thing and gradient lips are no more than the most natural looking lip makeup there is.
For some of you who haven’t still grasped what a gradient lip look is, allow me to explain briefly. Gradient lips are lip makeup style that concentrates the color to the inner part of the lips. Other terms used for this look is the “just bitten lips” or the “just sucked on a cherry pop” lips. Basically, it looks like you just eaten a candy that the inner parts of the lips are redder than the outer. Sometimes you can use two tones of lip color for this and use the darker shade on the inner part and the lighter on the outer. Though a pinkish tone and nude color would best give you the natural and youthful look.
This look is not only gaining popularity in Korea but is also starting to gain popularity all around the world. Thus a lot of popular personalities are getting on the trend as well
Celebrities like IU, KISUM, Jessica Jung, After School’s NANA, AKMU’s Sohyun and more are going for this look on cam or just on regular days.
There might be a lot of product sold especially for gradient lip type of application, there is also a very easy way to achieve this with just your own makeup.
How to apply gradient lips like the pro:
1) First is to exfoliate. In order to have that clean and smooth gradient, you need to exfoliate dead skin on your lips. And then moisturize with a thin layer of lip balm.
2)Start with covering your lips with concealer or some would use a nude color lipstick for this. What we aim to do here is to camouflage the base color with your skin color.
3) Then apply the color on the inner part of your lips. Blend it out with your finger to soften the edges.
4) Finish up with a thin layer of lip gloss to make the gradient look more smoother and natural. You can also go for a translucent powder instead of lip gloss in order to make the lip color stay longer.
This 2017, gradient lips would definitely stay on top of its game in the world of beauty and makeup. So I tell you, get left behind on the trend and get your youthful gradient lips.
