Loose powder or setting powder is everything in recent makeup trends. Thus, following my review on Helen Park’s Beaming BB Cream here I introduce its partner in crime; Helen Park’s M Powder.
This is a loose powder that completes the Helen Park Perfect Cover Set.
So this loses powder might just seem like your normal lose or setting powder. But what we don’t know is that it actually provides skin care activities. Of course; Helen Park never disappoints when it comes to skin care!
Helen Park’s M Powder provides protection from the sun. This one feature I am particularly thankful about!
This loose powder promises us a “Baby Faced Makeup” throughout the day. It Has Sunblock properties in SPF 30/PA++. It also promises pore and blemish coverage and oil control that lasts for the whole day.
What I like best about this loose powder is that it has a very fine and even finish. It looks very natural. You’d seriously think your skin is at its best condition.
So how to apply Helen Park M Powder effectively:
-The moment you open the container at first use, you will find it a little compacted inside the container. What you might automatically think is to shake it to loosen, like what we usually do to any other loose powder. However, I suggest you don’t just simply shake this M powder.
Firstly take out the air puff from the container, close the lid and give it a light shake. The reason for having it closed while you loosen the powder is because this M Powder is made of hyperfine particles. Shaking the powder in an open container will only get the product flying on the air. [such waste. tsktkstks]
-After giving it a little shake, flip the container once or twice. Open the container and try to work with the product on the lid. This way you can maximize the use of the powder. It won’t be that thick and no unnecessary products are put to waste.
-This loose powder comes with the Helen Park Air Puff so you need nothing more but to use what has been provided.
I strongly suggest you use the air puff rather than turning to your powder brush, buffing brush or even your beauty blender. This is because the M Powder has a unique kind of consistency that I found only the Helen Park Air puff works well in applying it.
Just like the Beaming BB Cream, the M Powder also prides itself with it’s leveled up adhesiveness to the skin. Thus it sticks right to your skin upon application.
You might find it a bit patchy at first and a bit more toned up and white cast on the first few moments of application. However, you need not worry about this weird looking effect to your skin. Give it a few more minutes (maybe around 10-15) and it will slowly set on your skin and even itself out. You’ll love how naturally it blends to your skin color. I did love it myself!
It comes in a 12g translucent container with a red lid. The box is quite girly in its pink color and white texts. What you see under the jar is some descriptions and an expiry date printed on it. [I just love products that tell us until when it can serve us best. At least we know until when we can enjoy them; don’t you think?]. The product also comes in two shades, #21 for fair to light skin and #23 for tan to dark skin.
Additional Tip: when keeping the product I take out the air puff from the container and place it inside a zip lock or just keep it inside the box before I place it on my vanity. This actually prevents the puff to absorb necessary products. And keeps the puff clean and residue-free for your next use.
Since this M Powder is a part of Helen Park’s “Perfect Cover set”, allow me to talk a little more about this duo.
Suggested usage is to apply the Beaming BB Cream first and set it down with the M Powder. This duo gives off a perfect coverage with a healthy glowing skin. It provides sun protection and added moisture for better skin condition throughout the day.
Like always, Helen Park’s legacy goes down to a “less is more” type of application, Thus also you needed only a very thin product to cover your skin.(however you can go on and apply a second thin layer on problematic areas to further cover them. Just go lightly every time.)
Another hack we get from this set is how you can easily make a concealer out of them. Just mix 1:1 parts of the BB Cream and M powder with a swab and spot conceal those problematic areas.
I really love the light and non-sticky products on my skin, thus I give this a perfect score rating. Also, its natural finish is the bomb! I was initially worried that I got a wrong shade but I was surprised that it blends perfectly well and gives a natural finish to the skin. I love it! Natural makeup is everything!
I strongly suggest this to everyone. Try going for a natural looking makeup with a perfect coverage. This will make you look younger than how you look now!
